LiteCure Laser Therapy – Can It Help Your Pain?
Can Laser Therapy help you?
Therapeutic lasers have been around for over 50 years and in 2002 the FDA cleared therapeutic lasers in the United States for treating injuries and enhancing recovery. At GCSS, we are lucky enough to offer LiteCure Laser Therapy to our patients. Our LiteCure Laser is a Class IV, medical grade laser that helps to decrease pain and rapidly enhances recovery for many conditions that our patients have.
Many professional athletes, college teams and rehabilitation specialists have begun utilizing laser therapy as part of their rehabilitation routine to help with faster recovery following daily workouts and post-injury.
Laser therapy isn’t just for professional athletes. At GCSS, we see many active individuals, or “weekend warriors”, that commonly have hamstring pulls, muscular strains and other aches and pains that can benefit by being treated with laser therapy.
WHAT DOES LASER DO?
- Reduces pain and spasm
- Reduces inflammation
- Improves blood flow to the application area
- Improves blood flow to the area
- Detoxifies and eliminates trigger points
- Stimulation of peripheral nerve regeneration
Immediately following each treatment, the cells in the area will be stimulated (on “hyper-drive”) for another 18-30 hours. This allows for increased blood circulation to the area which in turn draws more oxygen, water and healing nutrients to the damaged area to assist in healing. As the area reduces in inflammation, muscle spasms and pain, normal muscle or joint function is restored.
Laser therapy is safe, painless and a non-invasive treatment for muscle and joint pains. Dr. Scott and Dr. Hillary work hard to stay at the cutting edge of patient therapy and are happy we are able to perform laser therapy at GCSS.
